WCUSC Members Receives College Postseason Award

Boston - Farrell McClernon, member of the WCUSC Predators’87 team,  earned all-freshman honors at Boston University.  McClernon made an immediate impact on the Terrier offense and by season’s end was the team’s leader in goals (7) and second in points (16). The West Chester, Pa., native made an appearance in all 21, starting 20. McClernon tallied three game-winning goals throughout the season, including two in overtime. The first one came against Boston College on Aug. 25 and again on Sept. 25 against Yale. McClernon also netted game winner over then-No. 22 Maine on Sept. 28.

Tallahassee, FL - Florida State Freshman defender Becky Edwards, also a member of the WCUSC Predators’87 team, was named to the all-southeast region freshman team.  In addition to this honor, Becky Edwards was recently invited to the USSF U-20 Women’s National Training Camp.

WCUSC Alumni Honored

(October 23, 2006) Former WCUSC player, Kelly Keelan, received the Brine CAA Women’s Soccer Co-Rookie of the Week award last week.  Kelly was a member of our Predators’87 team & is the daughter of WCUSC staff coaches Angela & Peter Keelan.

The George Mason women's soccer team had a 1-0-1 week, defeating Virginia Commonwealth, in second-place in the conference, and earning a draw with James Madison, sixth-place in the conference. The Patriots couldn't have picked up those four points without freshman forward Kelly Keelan and as a result, she was honored by the Colonial Athletic Association receiving the Brine CAA Women's Soccer Co-Rookie of the Week award.

Keelan had the game-winning goal in Mason's 2-1 overtime win over VCU on Friday night, her second goal on the year. Keelan has five points this season, second on Mason amongst first-year players. Keelan had a team-high five shots on Sunday at James Madison, keeping the Dukes on their heels and preventing them from mounting a significant attack.
