"Giving Back to the Game"

(April 13, 2006) West Chester United Soccer Club is excited to announce our new "Giving Back to the Game" program.  We are looking for high school aged players who are interested in inspiring the next generation by mentoring our younger recreational players.  The objective of the program is to match a volunteer player with a U-07/U-08 Boys or Girls team during the spring or fall season.  The player will act as a mentor to the team & assist the coach during a few practices & games.   (Note: it is not a requirement that the player attends all team activities & the player will not be expected to lead practices or manage games.)

Another part of the "Giving Back to the Game" program involves assisting in our recreation clinics.  During the spring, recreation player clinics will be held on Saturday, April 22nd & May 6th (9:00 AM to 12:00 PM) at Thornbury Soccer Park.  Volunteers can help during the full three hours or from 9:00 to 10:30 or 10:30 to 12:00.

In addition to the satisfaction of given their time to inspire these younger players, volunteers will receive a WCUSC staff shirt & a commendation letter which can be used as part of a college application.  If interested, please contact Damon Nolan at dnolan@wcusc.org.
