Spring School of Excellence
March 11, 2008 - West Chester United Soccer Club (WCUSC) is pleased to announce the School of Excellence Spring 1 Session. This training program is open to all WCUSC players, along with non-WCUSC players for a slightly higher fee. Each class topic is developed to supplement players’ regularly scheduled team practices. The School of Excellence will create a pressure free environment that will focus on individual player development.
WCUSC Hosted NSCAA Coaching Course in March
Friday, March 28, 2008 & Saturday, March 29, 2008
The Regional Diploma is a 13-hour course designed for the coach working players 11 to 18 years of age. An emphasis is placed on learning to work with the developing player within both an individual and team concept.
The curriculum outlines how technical and tactical concepts can be applied in the development of players. The focus is placed on the basic methods of coaching, teaching proper technique, the theory and application of offensive and defensive tactics and understanding team management. There is no testing in the Regional Diploma. All candidates must be at least 16 years of age at the time of application. If a candidate is under 18 years of age, an adult must accompany him or her for the duration of the course.
Course Fee: $60.00 per candidate | 15-person minimum
The West Chester United Soccer Club sponsored course will be held on Friday, March 28, 2008 (6:00 PM to 9:30 PM) & Saturday, March 29, 2008 (9:00 AM to 5:00 PM) at Thornbury Soccer Park. Click here the course registration form.

WCUSC Night at the Kixx
January 5, 2008 will be the 8th annual West Chester United SC Night at the Kixx (vs. the Baltimore Blast at 7:05 PM). This will be a great opportunity for all players in our club to attend a game together and enjoy a fun night of indoor soccer. Teams that register as a group will have the opportunity to scrimmage in the afternoon on January 5th on the Spectrum arena turf field.
Heather Mitts Visits WCUSC
Heather Mitts, US Women’s National team member & former Philadelphia Charge player, will be visiting West Chester United SC on Monday, August 7th from 5:00-7:00 PM to participate in a meet-&-greet session at Thornbury Soccer Park. The event is sponsored by Kelly’s Sports & is a great opportunity for the girls in our club (travel & recreation) to interact with a tremendous female role model.

EPYSA Honors Two WCUSC Members
(March 5, 2006) Two WCUSC members were honored today by the Eastern Pennsylvania Youth Soccer Association (EPYSA). Lee Martin received the EPYSA 2005 Girls Coach of the Year award while Gary Bevilacqua was named the EPYSA 2005 Volunteer of the Year.
U-11G2 Wildcats Ballgirls for the WPSL Pirates
The WCUSC U-11G2 Wildcats team were proud to be ball girls for the Philadelphia Pirates' exhibition match against New York on Saturday March 4th at USTC. The Pirates won 1-0 after scoring a goal with about 10 minutes remaining. Playing for the Pirates on Saturday were Becky Edwards, WCUSC U-18G1 Predators member, as well as Tina DiFernando, who is a WCUSC alum. The Pirates are part of the women's premier soccer league (WPSL) attracting local, national, and int'l players.
