WCUSC Recreation League Game-Day Procedures

1. Teams are to set up on opposite sidelines. All players, coaches, parents & supports must be on the same sideline. No one is allowed behind the goal line. The first team listed on the schedule has the choice of sidelines.

2. If there is no referee present at the start of the game, the game is to still start on time. The coaches should get together & agree on an individual to officiate the game. One way to handle this situation is to have a supporter from each team officiate a half.

3. If the referee elects to use parents to assist with officiating the game along the sideline, the role of the parent is to only determine if the ball is out of play. The parent "linesperson" should not indicate which team’s regains possess, only that the ball is out of play. Also, the parent “linesperson” should not determine off-sides or assist the referee with calling fouls.

4. Players going into a game on a substitution should be ready to enter the game at the half line.

5. (For U-9 through Senior Teams) When reporting your game score to the age commissioner, please include a note on the referee that officiated the game. Information on the referee should include whether the referee was present, how well he/she communicated to the teams, were his/her calls consistent, & was the referee’s ability equal to the level of play of the players. Both coaches are to submit the weekly game report.
