U14 Girls Got it done!

It was an early start for the team as we played in the first game. We won the first two, lost one and tied the forth (2-0, 3-0, 0-2 and 1 -1) to put us just into second place.

We played the only team to defeat us for the championship. It was late in the day, cold and the girls were tired after 4 well fought games. The excitant was high as we had a chance to will it all under the lights. The Final was 0-0 at the half with both teams playing well. We scored late in the second half to take the lead 1-0. When the final whistle was blown we had done it 1-0.

 Not so fast ….

 The team, fans and coaches celebrated briefly. We lined up to thank the opposing team only to be met by the referee, he informed me that the whistle blown was 2 minutes premature and that we need to resume play. After a bit of confusion without a single complaint, we took our positions on the field. We played till the whistle (again) and celebrated and solid win.
