ADDITIONAL LEAGUE GUIDELINES:

1. Indoor Rec. League 2010 Referee fees are as follows:
        U-07 Coed @ $10.00 Per Game
        U-09 Boys/Girls @ $15.00 Per Game
        U-11, U-12, & U-14 Boys/Girls @ $20.00 Per Game

2. It is very important that games are kept on time as there are only a few minutes between games.  There is no need for a coin toss as the teams should simply defend the goal closest to their bench. At the half-time break, there is also no need to have the teams change direction as there is no advantage indoors. Referees should blow their whistle one (1) minute before the official start of the game to alert teams to get ready for the game, then blow their whistle & ask the coaches to have their starting line-up on the field thirty (30) seconds before the start of the game. In order to try to keep the games on time, feel free to start your clock on time even if the the teams are not ready to kick-off.

3. For reporting games, send an email to
dnolan@wcusc.org by Monday evening with the game scores & a report an any incidents or if a card is issued.

4. Game balls are provided by USTC & will be at ACAC.  The first referee of the day is asked to go to the front desk (except for at ACAC) & ask for the game balls.  Keep in mind, that on the Turf Fields you will need both a size 4 ball (for U-11 & U-12 games) & size 5 ball (for the U-14 games).

5. There is a scoreboard on each of the USTC fields. For the first referee of the day, if you are not familiar with how to operate the scoreboard controller, ask someone at the front desk to show you.  Then each referee should show the next referee how to work the scoreboard controller.

6. For the U-07 & U-09 referees, referees are asked to help the players with restarting the games as this age group is use to having the coaches on the field to help them.  Also, referees should feel free to be very liberal with the goalkeepers using their hands outside the penalty area.  Speak up when they are outside the area, but don’t penalize them.

7. IRL mercy rule: If a goal differential reaches five (5) goals, then the team that is behind can play with an additional player on the field.  If the score differential drops down to four (4) goals or less, then the team is to remove the extra player.
