Haverford

Sunday’s game was another serious of unlucky moments. With nearly 20 shots on goal, the most the team has ever had, the Hurricanes dominated the game. The offense, with leadership from Tomas Brooks, Ryan Fogel, Tyler Gallen, and Ryan Kirkman, battled valiantly but just couldn’t seem to get the ball in the correct side of the net. The Haverford defense played far forward, forcing the Hurricanes offsides and thwarting attempts at the goal.

The Hurricane midfield played strong, with steals and good dribbling from Jerry Baldino, Andrew Brightbill, Jimmy Scorzetti, and Tyler Zarr.

David Natalie protected the Hurricane goal with seven saves and solid leadership during corner kicks. Haverford scored with about 5 minutes left in the game, but West Chester did not give up. With less than 2 minutes to go, the Hurricanes’ Tyler Marraffa scored on a pass from our defender, to end the game in a 1-1 tie.
