Hurricanes Play Hard but Lose Against Chichester
The WCUSC Hurricanes lost 2-0 against Chichester on a make-up game Sunday, October 29, 2006. The Hurricanes played well in the first half, with great defense on corner kicks supporting goalie Tyler Zarr. Wings Tyler Gallen and Jimmy Scorzetti had some active dribbling downfield. Midfielder Ryan Fogel helped with a good steal and solid heading, and Ryan Kirkman revealed good ball control in very physical play, but the half ended scoreless for both teams. In the second half, the cold seemed to take its toll on the Hurricanes, as did the wind, which prevented several shots to go just left or high of the goal. Although Mark Butte and Colin Neilon had spot-on passes, and Will Mau made several defensive saves with strong kicks and heading, two second-half goals by Chichester took the game from the Hurricanes.
