Note from an Opposing Coach about Our Team
Keeping things in perspective...

The following e-mail was sent from an opposing coach regarding some positive behaviors from the Warriors parents.  When you hear so much about what is wrong with youth sports, it’s nice to have an example of what is right with youth sports, and a reminder that in the end we are watching kids play a game.  Thank you to those unnamed Warrior parents who set such a good example for our team and for West Chester United.

Hi Peg,

I got your name from Mike Flowers, the organizer for the Dillsburg shootout.  So I hope you are the right person to contact. This is a little late, but it is still something I intended to do all the same.  During the championship game against us (Dallastown Clash), we had several injuries to include a bloody nose, bruises and cuts (normal stuff, exasperated by the fact we had back to back games).  Because we were not close to our equipment and my parents were on the other side of the field, we didn’t have our gear or medical equipment with us. Several of your parents (it was more than 2-3) were very helpful in finding and giving us ice, bandages and water to help my players. This was during the game while I had my hands full. They (your parents) were extremely nice and I was very thankful for their help.  I wanted to take the time to say thanks during the awards but it was a fragmented ceremony and to be frank, I was so burned out that it just escaped what little mind I had left.

Finally, the point of this is to ask you to please thank the parents on my (and my team’s) behalf. They acted selflessly and in the best interest of the kids and we (my parents especially) want to thank them.

All the best in the coming year of soccer. Look forward to another Clash Warrior game in the future..........

Best regards,

Rick Hill

Coach Dallastown Clash

Thank you Mr. Hill for taking the time to recognize our parents.  Also an example of what is right with youth sports.
