(July 9, 2010) West Chester, PA - Mario Vossen, Chief of Scouting for Borussia Moenchengladbach (German Bundesliga), will be visiting with West Chester United Soccer Club (WCUSC) next week to get an impression of the club’s facilities, programs, and structure. A long term goal for WCUSC is to create a relationship with professional clubs in Europe to give our players exposure as well as to learn from their structure & training philosophy. This is one step in that direction.
Mario Vossen is in charge of coordinating the player scouting process for the Borussia professional team as well as for all of the club’s youth academy teams. Borussia Moenchengladbach is one of the most well-known, best-supported, and most successful teams in Germany. With over 40,000 members it is the sixth biggest club in the country. Borussia are five time German Bundesliga Champions and two time UEFA Cup Champions. Former US National Team keeper Kasey Keller played for Borussia from 2005 to 2007 and US National Team member Michael Bradley is currently playing for Borussia. Vossen will be in West Chester starting this weekend and will be working along side WCUSC’s Technical Director, Tino Mueller, with some WCUSC/Penn Fusion teams and players during his visit.
