2008 EPYSA GIRLS COACH OF THE YEAR
Frank Olszewski (EPYSA Vice President) and Damon Nolan (WCUSC Executive Director) presented Garry Chandler (Predators'95G Coach) with the award.
At the 2008 Eastern Pennsylvania Youth Soccer Association (EPYSA) Annual General Meeting, one of West Chester United’s own, Garry Chandler, was honored with the 2008 EPYSA Girls Coach of the Year award. Coach Chandler is very deserving of this award, having previously received the WCUSC Travel Coach of the Year award in 2006. “Garry is one of the most dedicated coaches I have had the pleasure to work with,” said Damon Nolan, WCUSC Executive Director. “His teams always play within the spirit of the game and his players are role models for many of the younger players in our club.”
In addition to coaching the current WCUSC Predators’95 Girls team the past two years, Chandler coached the WCUSC Spartans’89 Girls team from December 2002 to June 2008. With the Spartans’89 Girls, Coach Chandler started with only 13 active players on the roster as a U-13 team and developed a team that was capable of making it all the way to the EPYSA U-18 Girls State Cup finals this past spring. The Spartans were very active over the years, representing WCUSC through out the mid-Atlantic region, as well as traveling to tournaments in Ohio, Virginia, and as far as Nevada. |
